QAV's take: This one is real, and it is exciting. The catch: an anticipating home is only as good as the foundation beneath it. AI cannot rescue a system that was rushed. Built on a clean, well planned design, it feels like magic. Built on a mess, it just breaks in new ways.
The fastest growing part of the luxury home has nothing to do with screens. It is light, air, and water, tuned to help you feel better. CEDIA, the industry's governing body, named wellness one of the defining trends of 2026.
Circadian lighting shifts with your body's clock through the day, energizing in the morning, warm and calm at night, which can genuinely help you sleep. Quiet systems clean the air you breathe and the water you drink. And artificial skylights now bring real, moving sunlight into rooms that have no windows at all.

Beautiful, tactile keypads in metal and glass that control a whole scene with one press. QAV's take: This is the least glamorous item on the list, and the most important. The network is the foundation. We treat it that way, because every other promise in your home depends on it.
Technology is finally moving into the rooms it used to skip. Spa-like baths with warm floors and steam. Garages ready for electric vehicles. Outdoor spaces with discreet sound and lighting that turn the backyard into another room of the home.
QAV's take: This is where life actually happens. Some of our favorite recent work lives outdoors, and in the spaces people used to forget.
Not everything at the trade shows is ready for your home. Household robots that fold the laundry remain demos. The promise that every device will finally talk to every other device, the standard called Matter, is real but moving slowly.
Our honest advice: do not build a home around a press release. Build it around how you actually live.
