In the heart of Washington Park, one of Denver's most beloved neighborhoods, sits a home where every detail was considered twice. The architecture is by Alvarez Morris, the interiors by Living Mile High, and the technology throughout is QAV's work: audio everywhere, lighting control, a living-space theater, robust Wi-Fi, and a full suite of security. Yet the true showpiece of this home is not a screen or a speaker. It hangs, quietly, in the windows.
The Crown Jewel, Woven to Size
The window treatments here are Hartmann & Forbes handwoven Roman shades, and they are nothing short of art. Each begins as premium natural fiber, sustainable and rapidly renewable, hand-selected strand by strand for its subtle variations of color and texture. The fibers are dyed, sun-bleached, and hand-tied, and then a loom master weaves each shade to the exact dimensions of its window, a true made-to-order process accurate to within a half inch and finished with the signature loom-finished edge that only handweaving can produce. These are not shades pulled from a catalog and cut to fit. They are woven to size, one window at a time, truly handcrafted and truly bespoke, the work of skilled artisans rather than a machine.
Handcraft, Made Effortless
QAV's role was to give these works of art a second life in motion. We motorized the entire collection, so that with a single touch, or on a gentle schedule that follows the sun, the shades rise and fall in silent unison across the home. Colorado light pours through the natural weave and lands soft and golden on the rooms within, while privacy, glare, and warmth are balanced without anyone lifting a hand. It is the marriage QAV loves most, the soul of something handmade with the ease of something automated, quiet and tactile and unforgettable.
Light and Shade, in Harmony
Because daylight is only half of the equation, QAV wove the home's lighting control into the very same system that moves the shades. Together they compose the mood of every room, warm and low for the evening, bright and open for the morning, the electric light and the natural light working as one.
Theater, Sound, and Security
The rest of the home is no less considered. QAV built a living-space theater for movie nights at the heart of the house, and filled the home with audio everywhere, an easy soundtrack that carries from room to room and out into the outdoor living spaces made for Colorado evenings. Beneath it all runs Wi-Fi engineered to reach every corner, along with integrated security, surveillance, and access control, so the home is as protected as it is beautiful.
