A great studio works on you before a single word is spoken. The light softens your shoulders. The sound wraps the room. The air feels considered. That is the line QAV was asked to walk at Sumits Yoga, a heated studio in the south Denver metro. Get the lighting, the sound, and the video right, and a class becomes transporting. Get any one of them wrong, and the spell breaks. There is very little room in between.
A Retrofit, Reimagined
This was a retrofit, not a ground-up build, which is its own kind of craft. QAV reengineered the experience inside an existing studio, threading new systems through finished walls and around a working class schedule, so members would return to a space that felt elevated rather than under construction. Every cable, mount, and panel had to find a home in a room that was never designed to hide them.
Lighting That Sets the Tone
It starts with light. In a yoga studio, lighting is mood, and mood is everything. QAV designed tunable, dimmable lighting that can glow warm and low for a candlelit flow or lift bright and clean for a power class, all without a harsh fixture in a practitioner's eyeline. The room changes character in seconds, and the instructor sets it with a touch.
Sound That Surrounds, Never Intrudes
Then there is sound. A studio sound system has to fill a heated, hard-surfaced room evenly, with no dead corners and no speaker shouting in anyone's ear. QAV engineered immersive, balanced audio so the music arrives everywhere at once, felt as much as heard, carrying a class through its peaks and its stillness alike.
Connectivity the Whole Studio Leans On
Behind all of it runs the network. A modern studio depends on the internet for everything from class check-in and music streaming to payments and member apps, so QAV built commercial-grade Wi-Fi and networking engineered to stay fast and steady through a packed schedule. When the connection simply works, no one ever has to think about it.
