In Italian, sarto means tailor. It was the perfect name for a restaurant set inside a turn-of-the-century Jefferson Park building that, fittingly, once housed a fabric shop. Sarto's brought metropolitan Italian dining to one of Denver's most characterful neighborhoods, and every detail, from the pinstripe fabrics to the Italian marble, was cut to fit. QAV's job was to tailor something you could not see: the technology, and the light.
Lighting, Cut to the Hour
The centerpiece was a panelized lighting system that dressed the room for every part of the day. Bright and easy over a long lunch, warm and low as dinner service settled in, dimming by degrees as the evening unfolded. The light was never an afterthought. It was choreographed, shifting with the service so the room always felt exactly right.
Fabric for the Windows
The restaurant's tall windows were both a gift and a challenge. QAV added motorized window treatments that drew great sheets of fabric across the glass, letting the Colorado sun pour in when it flattered the room and softening it when it would have fallen straight into a guest's eyes. Light, welcomed or tempered, on command.
The Right Sound for the Moment
Audio ran throughout, tuned to the tempo of the day. Upbeat and social through happy hour, then the warm sound of Italian music through dinner, always at a volume that still lets a table talk. The soundtrack set the mood without ever calling attention to itself.
Screens That Know When to Appear
Televisions stayed hidden until the moment called for them. On an ordinary evening they were out of sight, keeping the dining room elegant. For the World Cup or a marquee event, they appeared and turned the restaurant into the best seat in the neighborhood, then disappeared again when the final whistle blew.
A Private Room That Transforms
The private dining room did double duty. Part of the restaurant by night, it could be booked for meetings and private events by day, and QAV built the technology to match. A projector rides a hidden lift that tucks into the ceiling when it is not needed, paired with a screen that vanishes into the ceiling the same way. Motorized shades hide in ceiling pockets and drop on cue, so a presentation stays private and the rest of the dining room never sees the screen. A polished restaurant by night, a discreet boardroom by day.
The Connective Tissue
Underneath everything, QAV provided the internet and Wi-Fi coverage a busy restaurant runs on, along with the surveillance any hospitality business needs. Reliable, secure, and quietly in the background.
Great hospitality is a thousand small things done right, most of which a guest never notices. That was the point. QAV tailored the technology to the room, the menu, and the moment, so an evening at Sarto's could simply feel like a wonderful night out.
