In Denver, some names need no introduction. Mike Shanahan is one of them. The two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach who led the Broncos through their greatest era rarely opens his front door to the public, and for QAV he made an exception. What followed became one of the most memorable projects in our history. His home sits in Bonnie Brae, the beloved southeast Denver neighborhood of winding, tree-lined streets just minutes from Washington Park and Cherry Creek. The exterior is the work of architect Alvarez Morris, the home built by Living Mile High, with the interiors shaped by the homeowner's own eye.
A Rare Invitation
What made this spotlight special was the access. Coach welcomed our team in, walked us through room by room, told stories, introduced his dog, and let us capture the day on film. The house holds a remarkable amount of Denver football history: championship game balls, helmets, and the quiet trophies of a storied career, all displayed with pride and ease. It is a home that has clearly been lived in and loved.
Everything, Everywhere
Behind the warmth is one of the most complete systems QAV has ever installed. The brief was simple to say and demanding to deliver: everything, everywhere, flawless. Lighting control runs throughout the entire property, setting the right mood in every room at a touch. Motorized shades cover the home from end to end, managing light, privacy, and the Colorado sun on cue. Audio reaches every space, indoors and out, so the music follows the gathering wherever it goes. And video is everywhere too, ready in any room the moment it is wanted.
An Immersive Living Space Theater
At the heart of it is one of the most immersive living-space theaters QAV has ever built, a room that turns movie night and game day into something close to magic. Throughout the home, the displays do more than show television. With Kaleidescape, a premium digital content service, a screen becomes cinematic art when the game is not on, so the technology gives back to the room even at rest.
Built to Championship Standard
Protecting it all is a comprehensive security and surveillance system, with watchful coverage inside and out. And underpinning everything, as in every QAV home, is a championship-grade network. Exceptional internet, a hardwired backbone, and Wi-Fi that blankets the property indoors and out, so nothing ever buffers, drops, or stutters when it matters most.
