Some homes wear their history on the outside. Axel wears it everywhere. Designed and built by Chalet, the studio of John and Regan Mattingly, this Denver residence was imagined as a centuries-old town house from a rural northern European village, all solid masonry, exposed brick, plaster walls, and an honest timber structure, then reborn with enlarged windows and doors that pull the light and the outdoors in. Drive past on an evening stroll and you will catch the parlor and dining room glowing, the artwork lit like a gallery. Into a home this considered, QAV brought a philosophy that fit it perfectly: design first, technology second, and never the other way around.
Design First, in the Living Room
Nowhere is that clearer than the living room. Here QAV designed the technology around the room rather than the room around the technology, with surround sound placed so thoughtfully that the speakers all but vanish into the architecture. The result is immersive, cinematic sound for a film or a favorite record, delivered without a single component breaking the room's old-world calm. It is the QAV signature, to feel everything and see nothing.
Music in Every Room
Beyond the living room, QAV filled the home with audio everywhere, so music follows the family from space to space, each room with its own mood and all of it a touch away. In a house built for gathering, the soundtrack is always ready.
Connected in Every Corner
A home of solid masonry and plaster is a beautiful thing, and a difficult one for a wireless signal to travel through. So QAV engineered Wi-Fi to reach everywhere, blanketing the entire property so that streaming, work, and every connected device simply work, in every room and out into the garden. The old-world walls keep their charm, and nothing ever buffers.
The Living Room Extends Outside
Chalet opened this home to the outdoors, and QAV followed it there. We brought technology to the outdoor living spaces so the audio and the experience carry seamlessly past the enlarged doors and onto the terrace, turning a Colorado evening into an extension of the rooms within.
Watched Over, Always
Finally, QAV secured the home with comprehensive security and surveillance, coverage that protects the property discreetly and around the clock, present when it is needed and invisible the rest of the time.
Axel is proof of what happens when everyone at the table shares one belief, that the best technology is the kind you never notice. Chalet gave this home an old soul and a modern openness, and QAV made sure the technology honored both.
You will never see the work. You will only feel the home.
