Tucked into the curving, tree-lined streets of Bonnie Brae, one of Denver's most charming and storybook neighborhoods, this home is exactlywhat its name suggests: a retreat. A private, polished place built forgathering, a short walk from the park and the village shops, and a world awaythe moment you step inside. The owners wanted a home made for entertaining. They also wanted the luxury to stay quiet. QAV's job was to deliver both.

Here the rule was simple. You should see the art, never thetechnology. So QAV made the technology vanish into the design. Small aperturespeakers and hidden subwoofers fill the rooms with rich, room-filling soundwhile leaving the ceilings and walls clean. In the key spaces, sound tilesplace the speakers behind the artwork itself, so the music seems to come fromthe paintings. The televisions are art first. Samsung Frame TVs wear theowners' collection when they are off, then step aside for a vast one hundredinch display when it is time for the big game or movie night.

Because the best parties spill outside, QAV carried theexperience into the landscape. Audio is woven through the hardscape, thegardens, and the area around the swimming pool, designed into the outdoor planrather than dropped on top of it. Inside or out, by the fire or by the water, the sound follows the party and the source is never in sight. This is indoorand outdoor living at its finest, built for the host who makes it all lookeffortless.

And every bit of it is simple to run. One easy control setsthe scene for a quiet evening or a full house, so the only thing the ownersever manage is the guest list. The luxury here is the quiet kind: concealed, thoughtful, and felt rather than seen.

Chic Retreat was designed in close collaboration with aremarkable team: architect Alvarez Morris, builder Living Mile High, and LuSi Design. Every speaker location, every screen, and every run of wire was plannedalongside the architecture and the interiors, so the technology had a beautifulplace to hide from the very beginning.

The result is a Bonnie Brae retreat that throws a wonderfulparty and never shows its hand. You will see the art, the light, and the peopleyou love. You will never see the work. You will only feel the home.

We love to host and we wanted the house to feel like art. Hidden technology was a key element of the interior design process. The technology isn’t pronounced, and yet the music is everywhere, inside, outside, all around the pool. QAV gave us the home we pictured, and our guests never stop talking about it.
