The Role

What are we looking for?

A kick-ass Lead Technician who sets the standard the rest of the crew follows.

Where are we located?

The Denver metro, specifically Centennial, Colorado.

Who are we?

Remember the homes in the movies, the Iron Man house, the Jetsons, the places that seemed to think for themselves? Two decades ago that was science fiction. Today we build it for real, in some of the finest homes in Colorado.

QAV began in the mind of an engineer who could not accept "good enough." Before he ever touched a home, he worked where good enough got people hurt: fighter jets, race cars, oil fields. He brought that standard to an industry that had quietly made peace with almost-right, and built a company that works the way he thinks. Every system is designed to a plan, built and tested in our own facility, and finished before the client ever moves in. We call that Done at Closing. The client never sees the work. They only feel the home.

What would you be doing?

You run the job site. You lead the install and commissioning of our most demanding homes, and you hold the standard for everyone on it. Here is how a typical week might look:

  • Monday: leading an install at a home under construction, and showing a newer tech the ropes.
  • Tuesday: reviewing the plans and the proposal so every piece of equipment is accounted for before it reaches the job.
  • Wednesday: we fly the whole crew to Vegas and hit the casinos. (Still kidding. Old habit from the last time we wrote one of these. Glad you are still reading.)
  • Thursday: walking a client through their finished home, making the complicated feel effortless.
  • Friday: the final touches on a dedicated theater, then handing over a system that simply works.

Most of your time is on site as the lead. Some days you are serving an existing client, making sure everything still runs perfectly. Plans are tidy when we are lucky, but priorities shift, so you stay calm and juggle well. And no matter how big or small the issue, you treat clients and teammates with patience. Client care is sacred here.

What should you bring to the table?

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Three or more years in AV, lighting control, or networking.
  • Comfort with control platforms and structured wiring (Crestron or Lutron experience is a plus, and we will train you on our stack).
  • The judgment and steadiness to lead a crew, and the patience to mentor one.
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and reliable, with a clean driving record.
  • A craftsman's eye, the kind of person who cannot leave a crooked plate or a loose cable.
  • The ability to lift 50 to 70 lbs.

What do we bring to the table?

  • Competitive base salary, based on your skill set and experience.
  • Paid time off.
  • A team you will soon call family, and a leader who started on the tools.

Culture Fit

  • Do you refuse to leave "almost" alone? We are built on an engineer's standard. Good enough was never good enough here.
  • Do you put the client first, every time? Client care is sacred. The work is for them.
  • Do you pick up the ball someone else dropped? We hire people who own the goal, not just the task.
  • Are you OK making a mistake? So are we, as long as we learn from it and never repeat it.
  • When someone asks how you are, is the answer never just "fine"? Around here it is "outstanding." We even made up a word for it: Outstandallente.

Benefits Package

  • Health
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • 401K with company match

How We Work

Five things you’d figure out in your first week.

Not values on a wall. The unwritten rules you’d actually feel on the floor.

01

“Almost” is a dirty word.
If a scene is off by a single beat, it doesn’t ship. People here have re-pulled cable at 11pm the night before a move-in because a dimmer curve felt a hair wrong. The client never knew. We did.

02

Nobody says “not my job.”
If something’s wrong in a home we touched, whoever sees it first owns it, even the part someone else dropped. We hire people who pick up the ball, not people who file a ticket about it.

03

We test with our hands, not our hopes.
Every system is built and run in our own facility, keypress by keypress, before it ever reaches a home. If it can break, we make it break here, where it’s cheap to fix and no one’s living with it.

04

Mistakes are tuition. Repeats are the bill.
Make a new mistake and we’ll dig into it together and get smarter. Make the same one twice and we’ll have a different conversation. That’s how a small team stays genuinely sharp.

05

“Fine” is banned.
Ask anyone here how they’re doing and you won’t hear “fine.” You’ll hear “outstanding.” We even made up a word for it, Outstandallente. It’s a little ridiculous. We love it. It’s us.
